thinking of this upgrade looking for feedback

current bfg 6600gt 128mb factory overclocked
to
All-In-Wonder Radeon X800XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO AGP 4X/8X
how big of a jump is this and how is ati always used nvidia
current setup
p4 478 socket 3.0gh ht 1m cache 800 fsb
abit ic7-g max2 motherboard 865chipset
2mgs pc 3200 samsung 4x512kb copper heatisnks running dual channel
80 gig and 250 gig hds not in raid(not sure how to set up)
3.5 floppy
toshiba dvd-rw 16x dual layer
19 inch lcd 8ms
current card bfg 660gt 126mb factory oc 525/1000
just any input or opions from others who have either or had both style cards

In all honesty that isn't worth the upgrade. The 6600GT is fine for now, I would save up more cash and wait get the X1600 or 7800GT. I have the 7800GT, which costed me $340, and I can play GW on any reso maxed out, with 1GB G. Skill and a 4000+

Agreed! If you feel the need to upgrade to a ATI though. The X800XL is far better then the X800XT.

Highly doubtful, nVidia is pushing for more home-users to switch from AGP to PCI-E.

ATI and nVidia both are pushing PCIe. I am unfortunate enough to have to upgrade my motherboard someday as I don't have PCIe.

Get an x800pro VIVO and do the mod to make it an x800xt pe.
You'll get the most bang for your buck that way.
Or if you don't care what you are going to spend, get an x850xt. Its probably the best AGP card you can buy.
